Week 9 (Final Project submission, Learning Styles and a Google Group)

Week 9 witnesses the submission of the course project. I have made some changes to the draft after the feedback I have given from Luis and Angels. I think now it looks better.

I also joined the discussion on learning styles. Using technology to cater to learning styles was an interesting part.

Last but not least is the group I have created on Google groups to join all the course members after finishing the course. I have sent invitations to everyone to join.
I have suggested creating the group on facebook but I noticed that some prefered Google. Anyway, I hope that we can keep in touch to share ideas in the future. Group work is fantastic and sharing experiences is important for everyone.

Best wishes for everyone,

Week 8 (Peer- reading, design a website or an exercise)

Dear E-mates,
This week marks some important work on the course. All the class were busy trying to finish their drafts for peer reading in time.

It’s a good experience to read others drafts and give them feedback and make use of their feedback to you. Actually I am lucky to work with Luis and Angels. They helped me with their feedback.

As for the exercise or the website, I gave Hot Potatoes a try and designed a simple exercise there. Here is the link: http://uk3.hotpotatoes.net/ex/103368/FGNPFOSR.php

I also designed a “prezi” presentation. Please, have a look Here.

Week 7 (one-computer classroom/ Padlet/ Project Draft)

Hi Everyone,

This week has been a very busy one but I like it. I have learnt about “Padlet” or “Wallwisher”. I think it’s a very good tool for my students to express themselves. God willing, it will definitely be part of my work in the new school year.

I have also read about one-computer classroom. It is a good subject and solves the problem of the lab always being occupied. It has many benefits especially if it is connected by an OHP.

The most important part this week is getting getting a partner to read the project draft before submitting it to Robert. I now work with Luis and Angels. Of course I am lucky to work with these distinguished people and I am looking forward to working with them.

Well! I am about to post my work on the page Robert has assigned for the group. Wish me good luckJ
Regards,

Said Hassan

Week 6 (A solution to my class problem)

Hi Everyone,

This is week 6. It is the busiest week for me as I have exams corrections running at my school.

The most important point to highlight in this week is the interactive PowerPoint. Frankly, I used to use PowerPoint very traditionally though I have tried many times to use it creatively.

This week I have learned how to present an interactive PowerPoint and I intend to use it as one of the solutions to the problem in my class.

I had a shock when I knew that “Zunal” the web Quest website isn't free. I wonder if anyone of you knows an alternative website.

I tried "Prezi" and found it creative and interesting. So, I intend to use it in my project as a Solution to the problem of my class.

I also created a class for my students in nicenet as part of the solution.

I am doing some work on the project. I hope I can finish it on time.

Finally, I need to consider PBL more as I strongly feel I am going to use it in the project.

See you in the next week,

Said Hassan

Week five – The week of innovation

Week five – The week of innovation

Creating (a web Quest, a rubric and a solution to a problem in my final project)

This has been a unique week for me. I think I exerted more effort. I enjoyed the web quest most. I am also happy because I got some advice from Robert, My instructor, on my project.

I think for the following weeks I have to explore PBL more to use it in my final project.

In addition, I have learnt that innovative teaching  needs a different way of assessment. So, I worked on “Rubrics” from Rubistar.  I found this site greatly helpful.

The extra credit work was exciting. I designed a web quest using the Zunal web site. I liked it. I think I will use it in the future.

Well, I hope I can be better in the following weeks and benefit my students with this course.
