Week 4 (Extensive Reading- Tec. enhanced Lesson Plan- A class problem or need)

This is week four. I have learnt useful things:
First: The articles dealing with "Extensive Reading" was a great help. I think it is time to experience it in my class.
Second: I have designed a lesson plan using the web technology. it was really fun and useful. I now remind myself that i should applay that as soon as possible.
Third: I was supposed to describe my class environment then think of a need or a problem that I think the web technology is going to help. I thought of how the Grammar translation method is a great hinder at my class. I think i may look for other problems to write about in the final project.

Finally I'd like to say that I experienced a good week with useful information

Week Three (Delicious- Authentic Materials- Comment on a final project)

Hi Everyone,

This week is a special one. I have learnt interesting new things. I hope I can benefit my students from these things.

I have learnt how to create a page on Delicious, Which is like a store for one's favourite web site, Though I have tried Google Bookmarks, I think Delicious is different. I have also got some overall views about the final project through commenting on one project provided this week. I think I will do well in my project. Finally, there was a discussion about the benefit of using authentic materials. I got some ideas from my Colleague Hacer and I am waiting for Robert's opinion.

-Week 2 (Search Engines- ABCD learning Objectives- Step 1 in the Project)

Hi Everyone,

I am very happy this week for what I have learnt.

This week I have learned new things:
First: I have learned about different search engines. Now, I know that google is not the only trusted and powerful search engines. I have tried other search engines such as CIA Factbook, Kidsclick and bingo. I have found that CIA Factbook is a wonderful search engines for countries around the world. kidsclick also appeals to me and my children. This made me search for another web search engines for kids. Second: I have learnt how to write my learning objectives according to the ABCD model. This is a very good model of writing objectives. I think I will use it in my teaching because it is practical and makes the me think of the students whom I teache, or the Audience. I will also think of the outcome or the result of teaching, Behaviour. The students’ abilities and the conditions that are likely to make learning takes place are considered, Condition. And finally the Degree or to what extend the teacher is expecting the students to achieve the learning objectives.

Third: the first step in designing the course final project:

In this step I described my school and my students. I found that my school has abilities which up till now haven’t totally been used. I dream of changing that. I hope the course makes me able to make this dream comes true.

Week 1 (Expectations)

Hi everyone,
My name is Said Hassan. I am 37 years old. I am from Egypt, the country of ancient civilization. I live in Giza which is very famous for the Pyramids. I teach students of preparatory and high school, aged 12- 17 . I am very enthusiastic about technology especially in teaching. So, I'm very happy to be with you in this course. 
I have great expectations in this course; I really hope I can make full use of it and be able to use the web skills in my teaching. I am sure my students will have great experience and will enjoy my teaching in this way.
I also hope I can benifit my colleagues and spread this kind of teaching at my school.
